We specialise in home extensions that meet the exact needs of families that have needs for specialist facilities. Extensions are manufactured off-site to your exact requirements and then lifted into place once groundworks have been completed. Extensions are bespoke, tailored to meet your exact requirements and can contain anything from a bedroom, kitchen or bathroom.
The iHUS team work with you to incorporate your every need when it comes to transforming your home. We design and plan every detail of your adaption ensuing that the plans meet your needs and suit your aesthetic style.
The Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) for home adaptations is a government scheme that aims to ensure disabled people have adequate facilities and access in their homes. Grants are available for several types of disability adaptions. You can read more about DFG on the Scope website.
We love the extension – it’s hard to describe how much its changed our lives for the better. Everyone who sees it is amazed by the quality – we’ve had lots of friends and family want to take photos of it to show other people. Jonathon’s got his school class coming to see it! The lady from the diocese was amazed at how good it is.
A usable kitchen and bathroom are essentials when it comes to independence and dignity. iHUS work with people to adapt these spaces, enabling people to carry out basic tasks at home, such as keeping clean or preparing food. We’re able to source and install suitable equipment and carry out the preparation of the space. This means you don’t have to use two companies for you home adaptation – we take care of the entire process.
A sensory or therapy room can play an important role in recovery or treatment for many people. Having access to this type of therapy at home can be incredibly beneficial for those with life-long disabilities. Our sensory rooms can be incorporated into existing spaces or built as a separate extension.
Our major adaption service includes the installation of any equipment needed. This includes through floor lifts and hoist systems. We can carry out any renovation work required to make the lives of disabled people easier, from creating level access to properties and gardens, to installing major pieces of equipment like hydrotherapy pools.
One of our happy customers includes Nicola Pope and her family. Nicola was left with permanent disabilities after contracting swine flu and pneumonia. After nine months in a rehabilitation centre, Nicola was ready to come home but due to muscle wastage she is now confined to a wheelchair and a hypoxic brain injury means that she has movement limitations and loss of dexterity. iHUS adapted a bungalow for Nicola and her family including an accessible bathroom with bath lift, specialist kitchen and other works to ensure Nicola can move through her home with ease.
“iHUS have done a superb job and have succeeded in creating an absolutely stunning and practical living environment for me and my family. Words cannot express how grateful I am, and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you the iHUS team for making a beautiful and accessible dream home a reality.” – Nicola Pope
We take great pride in the work we do, helping make organisation and residences all over the UK more inclusive. Here are a few of our projects we think you might like.
In early November 2009 I contracted swine flu and pneumonia which subsequently lead to a cardiac arrest at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and having to be resuscitated twice. Here is how iHUS helped me.
