Adapting an existing space into a bathroom which meets Changing Places building regulations is easy when you choose the right company. iHUS can adapt most spaces, from an existing toilet to an old storage room, into a Changing Places facility. We will work in your existing space to, installing the specialist equipment needed to enhance your toilet provision.
Meet both disabled changing room regulations as well as your own unique requirements with a custom modular facility. Manufactured off-site to meet your needs and those of your customers, your completed Changing Places facility can be dropped straight on to your site and ready to use within a couple of days.
A Changing Places Toilet requires over 12sqm of internal floorspace, and a minimum internal ceiling height of 2.4m. The large, clean space will comfortably fit one user, plus two assistants, if required. These measurements also meet the current recommended British Standard. Facilities that are smaller may exclude people who need the assistance of other people and need more space.
BS8300 is a British Standard that recommends the inclusion of a Changing Places toilet and sets out guidelines for the size of the space and what should be included. Our projects all meet and exceeds the guidelines. In addition, it meets Building Regulations Approved Document M recommendations, which sets out the guidelines for standard accessible toilets and recommends the inclusion of a Changing Places toilet in large public buildings.
Working with iHUS has been a master-stroke. They share our passion for accessibility and the modular facility creates new opportunities for the Changing Places campaign and expands who it can reach and what we can offer.
Our facilities are fully equipped with high quality equipment, deigned to meet the needs of most customers. This includes an adult sized changing bench, peninsula toilet, a hoist, grab rails and sink. The equipment included meets and exceeds the recommended equipment needed for the facility to be classified as a Changing Places toilet.
