Ample Space

A Changing Places Toilet requires over 12sqm of internal floorspace, and a minimum internal ceiling height of 2.4m. The large, clean space will comfortably fit one user, plus two assistants, if required. These measurements also meet the current recommended British Standard. Facilities that are smaller may exclude people who need the assistance of other people and need more space.

BS8300 is a British Standard that recommends the inclusion of a Changing Places toilet and sets out guidelines for the size of the space and what should be included. Our projects all meet and exceeds the guidelines. In addition, it meets Building Regulations Approved Document M recommendations, which sets out the guidelines for standard accessible toilets and recommends the inclusion of a Changing Places toilet in large public buildings.

Working with iHUS has been a master-stroke. They share our passion for accessibility and the modular facility creates new opportunities for the Changing Places campaign and expands who it can reach and what we can offer.

Fully Equipped

Our facilities are fully equipped with high quality equipment, deigned to meet the needs of most customers. This includes an adult sized changing bench, peninsula toilet, a hoist, grab rails and sink. The equipment included meets and exceeds the recommended equipment needed for the facility to be classified as a Changing Places toilet. For a full list of equipment please download our borchure or request a product sheet.

I’m extremely impressed with iHUS. I found them to be honest, reliable and they delivered exactly what they said they would and in perfect time. We now have a facility to be proud of and I can highly recommend the team.

Our Changing Places Toilets can be tailored both inside and out to meet your aesthetic requirements. The external shell can be clad in materials to compliment your existing buildings or environment, this can assist with planning permission in conservation areas.  The interior of the core is also customisable – we provide a wide range of internal colours and finishes for you to choose from. Additional finishes can be included such as bespoke feature walls; these can carry your branding or be used as sensory stimulation.

80% of recipients to our recent survey were not aware of Changing Places Toilets. We’re here to change that & help make your business more accessible. Here is a video educating you on what it takes to create a fully accessible Changing Places Toilet.

Making your business more accessible to people who may not otherwise be able to visit can increase custom, in addition to boosting your reputation. There is a huge market of people who have money to spend on day trips and holidays but can’t currently do so because of the lack of appropriate provisions. Adapting your business to meet the requirements of these customers means that you can capitalise on the so called ‘purple pound’.
