Changing Places Case Study: Kingsbury Water Park

Like so many UK tourist attractions, the disabled toilets at Kingsbury Water Park didn’t offer the support needed for those suffering from profound and multiple disabilities.

Following a recommendation, Craig Williams, Country Parks Principle Contracts and Projects Officer at Kingsbury Water Park, contacted iHUS to enhance their disabled provision and develop a new Changing Places facility.

Working with Craig, we developed a bespoke facility to also incorporate a new male and female WC as part of the modular unit. This replaced an existing portacabin system, providing a safe, hygienic and fully accessible facility for all visitors.

“In a word iHUS were Fantastic! They clearly have a grasp on exactly what is needed to meet the Changing Places criteria. There were no delays, everything worked, and our facility is built to a very high standard. Communications were excellent and the project was delivered on time and to budget.”

The Kingsbury CP facility was submitted to the 2017 ‘Loo of the Year’ awards, receiving an overall grade of ‘platinum’ – the highest recognition available. Winners of each category will be announced on Friday 8th December at the annual awards ceremony in Solihull.
