In early November 2009 I contracted swine flu and pneumonia which subsequently lead to a cardiac arrest at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and having to be resuscitated twice.
I spent the next 10 weeks in a sedated coma and a further 9 months in a rehabilitation centre called Magnolia Lodge before finally being discharged in December 2010.
Due to muscle wastage I am now confined to a wheelchair and due to a hypoxic brain injury I have certain limitations and loss of dexterity.
Words cannot express how grateful I am and I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU to Trevor Smeaton, Ben Hickey, Jason Clark, and all the iHUS team in making a beautiful and accessible dream home a reality.
Although it took 6 long years including a gruelling court case in September 2015, I successfully won my negligence legal case. Part of the settlement was for purchasing and adapting a new home
We eventually purchased a bungalow in Doncaster, which I was initially unable to access which needed a lot of work doing to it. After 7 months of so called experts in these type of works giving astronomical quotes and ridiculous timescales by various companies, my husband found a company called iHus projects and not only was their quote much more reasonable, so were their timescale.
They have done an absolutely superb job and have succeeded in creating an absolutely stunning and practical living environment for me and my family.
With over 30 years’ experience in construction, iHUS are one of the UK’s leading disabled adaptations companies.
